It occurs to me that I never posted all of the details from the twins french inspired birthday party. So today seemed as good a day as any...plus it is a distraction from all the blog clean up I am trying to get done!
The twins turned three in October and I knew I wanted to use the phrase, "Oui Oui the twins are three". I ruled out Madeline because the girls weren't interested, and then landed on bakery when I found the sweet pink aprons! Next I invited my creative sister to a secret pin board and the inspiration started rolling in. Then I had to weed through it. Pinterest is such a great source, but when you have that much inspiration in front of you it is important to weed out things that aren't cohesive. I decided on a pale pink color palette and that helped me make some decisions. Next, I decided to focus on the playtime activities versus the cute foods that we had pinned. I love a cute edible item, but the time of day for the party lent itself to playtime not meal time, and I had to stop myself from getting too carried away.

As the girls arrived they got a pink polka dotted apron to wear while they played cafe, bakery, and grocery store. I set up the play area so the kids could play on their own or as a group. I found a cardboard play cafe, and then added our lemonade stand as a grocery store. I also set up tables for cookie decorating, and invited a small crowd so that I could control the sprinkle and icing chaos! The party went off without a hitch. As each guest left they were given a berry basket to load up with play bakery goods that my Mom and I had created.

The menu for this little shindig was simple. We made ham and cheese croissants, and turkey and cheese croissants so there would be something substantial in between all of the sweets, and then I had sweets! The sweets were cake, candy, macaroons, meringues, and petite fours. I served iced coffee for the parents and three different types of milk for the kids. For sources, please see below.
The party was shared on Pizzazzerie this past fall and the full image gallery is under the tab "Party Galleries" at the top of the page.
