A friend of mine (& fellow mom of twins) has been mixing up Gimlets all summer, and all summer I have been meaning to try one of these little cocktails. Â So I finally got around to it, and I must say, I wholeheartedly understand the love affair Jerris has with this little beverage. Â It is both sweet & sour and the gin gives it a wonderful herbal undertone. Â It is summer in a cocktail glass, perfect for enjoying on the porch next to your container herb garden!
I mixed mine up and served in one of my Grandmother, May May's Cape Cod glasses. Â As these glasses were always used for juice in her household, I am not sure what she would think, but aren't they beautiful?
Ingredients
2 oz. Gin
1 oz. fresh lime juice
1/2 oz. simple syrup
Mix three ingredients in a shaker, pour over ice and serve with a lime wedge. Â
*If you use Rose's lime juice you probably will not need to use the simple syrup)Â
*French Gimlet- I have a love affair with St. Germain, and so I added an ounce of it to the Gimlet and it was divine!Â
Cheers, y'all!Â
