A couple of weeks ago I created these printables for our "Make A Difference Day" activity. My sons school recommends that we do a project, so Riley and some of his friends got together and wrote letters to soldiers who are overseas serving our country.

Riley and I had several interesting conversations on the subject of service, both in reference to community service and military service. I think that amidst all of the excitement and fun during this time of year a project like this is a good way to balance everything out and certainly fits into this month of thankfulness. The activity is a very simple and a sweet way to involve your children in the holiday, as well as understanding the importance of Veterans Day.

Click here to download and print. I recommend printing on flat white cardstock. Make certain to unclick the fit to page box before printing. Then simply cut along the thin black line and fold the cards in half. The cards will measure 5 x 7 when folded and fit into an A7 sized envelope. If you and your kiddos use them, I would love to see your finished project on Instagram or Facebook. Use the hashtag #hcpprintables and tag @highcottonpaperie.

In our case, someone in our group has a friend serving and that is where our letters are headed. However, if you are interested in doing this activity but do not know who to send the letters to, below are some non profits that I found who will gladly deliver your messages. Make certain to check their sites before decorating and writing your cards. They list suggested topics of conversation, as well as things not to do (ie. glitter, talk of politics, etc.)
